Many individuals and their families can benefit from the services of a senior advisor when they need either additional help in the home or are contemplating a move to a senior community. Here are just a few ways we provide assistance to seniors
Assistance with immediate placement
Changes in health status, hospital and rehabilitative stays can often signal a need for additional care, or a move from a current living situation to one that provides more supervison and care. As is often the case, these moves need to happen immediately, providing families little time to investigate options.
Assistance for out-of-state or long-distance families
Family members who live out-of- state or at a prohibitive distance from their loved one may feel especially challenged in researching community and care options.
Families that require respite or short term care
Respite care is a specialized service designed to provide short-term, temporary relief to the primary caregiver, giving them a chance to rest, recharge, and tend to their personal needs and responsibilities. There are several options for respite care including in-home care, adult day care, senior living and assisted living. Approximately 60% of assisted living facilities of provide short term stays.
Couples that require a living option that provides for care of one or both
Finding a community that can all the care needed for couples who may have different needs can be difficult.
Individuals in independent living where care needs and costs are increasing beyond their means
As care needs progress, many Independent Living communities can provide services through a home care provider either on-site or outside the community. These services are provided for additional fee on top of the community fee.
Individuals who need placement suggestions with monthly income above the state income and asset levels.

What services do you offer?
GLMA provides assistance with helping their senior clients and their families find the best community for them based on their needs, finances, social requirements, etc.
How much do you charge for services?
Our services for assistance with placement are always provided FREE to our families and clients. GLMA is compensated by the individual facility that the family chooses as their new residence or service.
How much should I expect to pay for home care, senior living or assisted Living?
In Florida, In-home care is currently costing between $22.50 to $32.50 per hour depending on how many hours are need, type of care provided and whether care is provided by an agency or registry. Senior Living or Independent living ranges between $2250 to $2550 per month. Median Costs for Assisted Living is $4750, but ranges can be between $2300 in lower cost areas to $8000 in higher cost areas. These costs are estimated medians for individuals (special rates usually apply for couples care), with many variations based on care level, apartment size, etc.
